Phoenix is the capital city of the state of Arizona, which is located in the Southwestern region of the United States of America. Admitted to the Union on February 14, 1912, Arizona is noted for its exceptionally hot & dry climate. However, the northern part of state experiences a comparatively cooler weather with the existence of pines forests & mountain ranges.
A survey conducted in 2006 shows that it is at present the fastest growing state of USA what with 3.6% population growth since the year 2005. Arizona borders the states of Utah, New Mexico, Nevada & California & shares an international border with Mexico. Many reserved forests, parks, monuments & Indian Reservations in addition to the Grand Canyon, are located within the state. While the highest elevation point is Humphrey’s Peak, the lowest is the Colorado River.
The 2006 Census shows that the total state product of Arizona is $232 billion, that is, it would have been the 61st biggest economy of the world had it been an independent country. Arizona’s economy relies on copper mining, citrus, cotton, cattle & tourism. There are many interstate & national highways in Arizona, which makes it easily accessible from everywhere.
